It is generally believed that the advanced countries have the most sophisticatedly equipped medicare systems ,experts in emergency services delivery operating 24/7 hours , they control the pharmaceutical industry with the most scientifically based pharm companies, they a touted tho be so equipped to be able to treat almost any type of disease. No doubt the health systems in the developed countries of the world has helped to increase the life expectancy of their citizens, the productivity of their people is high because their health is significantly improved as a result of their health system, diseases like polio and other life threatening illnesses have been eradicated. irrespective of this great human effort the advanced world has put in the development of their health system, the covid 19 pandemic has just thought us a very important lesson, and that is , the most advanced medical system and well learned medical doctors can not replace poor health habit, the covid has reminded us that washing our hands or using alcoholic sanitisers ,putting on our face mask, and social distancing will help keep the virus away from us, we don't need medical experts to help us wash our hands, it must be a good habit that we have to imbibe.

We must know that a good health habit will help us manage our health better, just listen to this: No matter the number of heart surgeries in a country, the people of that country will not because of those wonderful expertize become immune to heart disease but a good health habit can help prevent heart diseases. I am not saying that the sophisticated medical systems found in the advanced world are not good, rather i am saying that a good health habit and healthy lifestyle will do much more good to our bodies.

The covid 19 pandemic has shown that there are health emergencies that no matter your medical system's sophistication if such emergencies occur it will seem that all your sophistication does not really mean much. Health is so massive that no amount of funding will be adequate in some health emergencies, however, the governments must step up and do the needful and we the citizens must recognise that simple health habits and a positive healthful lifestyle will do much more for us......

GOOD HEALTH HABITS

1. REST: After creating man , the next thing God gave the man was  rest, so rest is very important to our health, we must make sure that our rest is indeed calming our nerves .r is actually resting, sometimes we lie down thinking that we are resting but not really doing so. Everyday our bodies need to rest for at least seven(7) hours for adults , the human body also need one day to rest in the week. Why it is important for us to rest because most heart attacks usually happens on a very strenuous day and at a time we were supposed to be really resting , which is between 9-12:00pm, the heart attack becomes even severe if there was tobacco or coffee use during the day. Resting is a biological requirement of the body. Even machines are service and allow to rest to avoid breakdown.

2. WHAT WE EAT( LET YOUR FOOD BE YOUR MEDICINE OR IN THE FUTURE YOUR MEDICINE WILL BE YOU FOOD)

We are what we eat, if you allow your food to be your medicine now, you will have the opportunity to determine what you eat but if you allow your medicine to be your food , others will determine what you will eat for you throughout your life, you will be at the mercy of your doctor.

Our health is affected more by what we eat than any other thing in our life. apart from selecting a very healthy diet, the time and how we eat it are also important because the time and how you eat your food will determine if your organisms that helps you digest the food are in a better position to carry their function properly. this one is applicable to people that wants to reduce their weight, is not only exercise and fasting that helps you reduce your weight but the time and how you ear you food also help. there are foods that you may need to grind before you eat it to help your system digest it faster. Eating right is a good health habit and a healthy lifestyle.

3.DRINKING ADEQUATE WATER

Drinking water and drinking adequate water are two different things altogether, the difference is very big. this is because if your body needs 8 glasses of water a day and you drink only 4 glasses, then you have not done anything because the water will not be enough for the body to carry out all the numerous functions that it is meant to carry, such as , the kidney, our kidneys needs water to filter the blood and remove unwanted toxins through the urine, the digestive system also need water to softy our feces for easy discharge, our skin needs water to remain glowing and healthy, even the bones require some amount of water to avoid sudden fracture.

The WHO recommends between 6 -8 glasses of water every day and to take more during the dry season.Choose water over  other drinks.

there are other external use of water that are very useful to our health but we shall handle that in another episode.

4.FRESH AIR

We need air so much ,the oxygen that our bodies need to transport blood in our system is in the air we breathe, we need oxygen for our food to be broken down to release energy into our cells and the only way to get this oxygen is by breathing through the air around us. Normal breathing is good but deep breathing is even better this helps our brains and all ur body organisms to function very properly. This is one exercise that you do not need to go out to do it is possible to do it when you wake up inn the morning while still on your bed.

5.EXPOSURE TO SUNLIGHT

All the energy that the living systems need to function is supplied by the SUN . we need the sun for the sustenance of life on this planet. If we look our body while standing in front of a microscope, you will see that at the body attracts pathogens and it is the presence of the sun that disinfects our bodies from those numerous germs, the sun also produces a very important vitamin that our bodies need, VITAMIN D is produced when the skin is exposed to sunlight. We need the sun to reduce depression during cold weather.

6.EXERCISE

Physical exercise helps to keep our body fit, the human body is designed for activity, inactivity helps the body to degenerate, it is scientifically proven that puting 40 minutes , four times every week,  helps to reduce the risk of having a heart attack, 45 minutes of exercise helps your body circulate blood throughout the day, exercise also helps to fight arterial hypertension, prevent fat, and helps keeps the organisms of the body in good condition.

Some people complain of too fat to run or jug, the best exercise for everyone is walking. Exercise helps us to maintain good mental attitude.
